Lots of kids start their internet
experience on an IRC server, wanting to rule over everyone there. Just
think of the delight you felt when being able to kick someone from you
channel. I'm not exactly proud to admit it, but I was one of those kids.
This is how the story of warmaster started.
I began making a
mirc-script that was supposed to be better than all the others scripts,
and who gave a little bit of power to its user. I made a warscript and its
name was WarMaster!
After making lots of versions for me and a
friend of mine I released the script on this homepage. I had then reached
version 5.0 of the script and it soon became very popular. Putting my URL
in the warmaster quit message was a sure way to get more people to notice
the script. More people did, and I reached about 30.000 users, mainly on
the UnderNet!
Why did people choose WarMaster over other scripts? I
believe it was the first impression warmaster made when you started it for
the very first time. Good music, nice pictures and some movement on the
screen makes the impression that this is a good script that has been put
alot of work in! It truly hasn't! :)
The version 6.0 is not much
different from 5.0. The main things changed are the sounds, logo and an
updated version of the mIRC-client. This was the last version of
warmaster, and there will be no new version of it. The final version was
released in October 2000. (I think)
You can still download the
script and try it out if you'd like! Although it's getting old it still
has alot of users, me included. (with a few minor changes in the
code)
The filesize is 2,3 MB and mIRC 5.51 is included. Click the
